On September 20, 2022, the Ministry of Health of Uganda officially declared an outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) caused by Sudan virus (species Sudan ebolavirus) in Uganda. Dr. Julie Villanueva and other CDC subject matter experts discuss background details of the outbreak and share current best practice considerations for sample requirements, diagnostic testing, and biosafety around packing and shipping specimens that may contain the Ebola virus. The webinar is recommended for those in public health departments, clinical and public health laboratory professionals, and healthcare personnel.
